I am EXTREMELY pissed at the whole thing. Why? They are starting their first major experiment on the 21st of October!

FABLE 2 IS RELEASED ON THE 21ST OF OCTOBER!

I realize I might never live long enough to play that game!

Oh and also, the whole everyone dying and the world getting destroyed thing kinda sucks...

Speaking as a chemist your post just pisses me off for a couple reasons.

1) I don't know of any chemist that would complain about this being dangerous. In fact most of the chemists I know think this is kinda cool. In fact there are a couple branches of chemistry that can benefit from the research done here. Hell...it wouldn't surprise me if there was a couple chemists that were in on the design.

2) What the hell are you thinking saying "What the hell do chemists know?"!? Next time you think this, pull your head out of your butt and take a look around. Practically everything around you is designed by chemists. In fact, Niels Bohr-who is thought of as the father of quantum mechanics-was himself physical chemist. The only way you could sound more ignorant is if you were to join in the "ZOMG! Doomsday!" crowd.

I'm going to uni end of this month, partially to study physics.

So i hope they get something within the next 3 years!

Btw, what is bad about strange matter? I can't find anything that describes what it theoretically would be.

I hate the idiots who complain about this because they think anything new is bad; the ones who think it'll cause the end of the world and they haven't even researched it...

I'll be quite happy to find out what they learn from the LHC Glad it's taking place in my lifetime.

Both ring firing tests were successful.

Don't worry, the collision testing won't start for a wee little while longer, but soon enough we should be figuring out the ever elusive mysteries of quantum science. I am so excited.

They were talking about the LHC last night on the history channel. It's interesting, but I still think it's a waste of taxpayer's dollars.

It won't happen god

This stuff is beyond the understanding of the average dumb American. You can't create a black hole (just not enough energy).

My friend was joking that we are screwed only if all of our understanding of physics is completely wrong.

Hey it’s not just American paranoia, everyone has conspiracy theories; like the supposed "Philadelphia Project" that happen over here in the U.S. Yeah, I can understand it’s stupid but what do expect from people in general.

I predict that this experiment results in the formation of a parallel universe where the laws of physics are such that the parallel LHC in that alternate dimension does in fact destroy the newly-formed, parallel planet Earth.

Prove me wrong.

It's interesting what science does to people, really!

Yeah, but there's a chance the Philadelphia Project happened.

This will not.

Seriously though

If you are retarded enough to think the world is going to end, might as well kill yourself anyways to eliminate yourself from the gene pool.

Well on the bright side, some hopeless people have the chance to get laid.

"You know babe, the world could end today"

Strangelets FTW :P

One of those would start converting everything to strange matter, turn the Sun into a strange star and destroy the whole galaxy wooohooo.
